Streamlining of transport ships

I think the use of transport ships needs to be sped up. At the moment it seems as though it takes way too many turns to get somewhere using them and in many cases you can get there quicker by just driving there(unless it has no land path).

The process seems to be:
Ship built and moved near units
Units moved onto ship
Ship moves where it wants to go
Ship unloads

I can't remember if that's the exact process but I can recall it being frustrating each time I use them because it seems as though moving a unit onto a ship revokes the ship's move or vice versa.

I think it should be:
once a ship is placed near units, units can move onto ship
Ship moves, units unload
No more than two moves. The unit moves and ship moves are independent.

This I agree with 100%, its rather jarring, to move units on the ship, then not be able to move the ship itself.
I suggest the following:
[turn 1]
Unit boards the ship.
ship moves to destination
[turn 2]
Units disembark,
ship moves to another location

Also I think another issue is not being able to put units directly onto a transport ship after they are built. You have to put them onto a land hex and then wait till the next turn before you can move them onto the ship. These changes would make sea battles a lot easier.

Developers! I am begging you adjust it somehow. Transport ships are real nightmare. They should be fast assaulting units delivering death upons the shores. Instead they are slow, move 'hungry' and on arrival just float around making themselves perfect targets. Which means unless you have got 10 turns and 5 landing ships with two units of tanks in each - you can hardly assault fortified island...

*** may you please also enable putting untis from the port/factory directly into the transport unit if it stands in the adjoining hexagon?

I like transport as it is. There must be a difference between port and coast.
